We will be hosting a school-wide assembly in our gymnasium to honor our students’ accomplishments throughout our first quarter. Students will be awarded for maintaining perfect attendance and achieving Honor Roll. Families are invited and encouraged to come and watch the assembly to cheer on and support their students.
How lucky to have Halloween fall on a Thursday this year! We wish you a Happy Halloween and encourage you to be cautious and safe as you celebrate this spooky holiday. If you go trick-or-treating, be sure to have something that is reflective or flashing so that others, especially drivers, can see you in the dark. Make sure to travel with a friend or a group and to look out for each other. If you are going to a Halloween party, be respectful to your host and their home or the venue. Most of all, though, have fun!
As our final day of Red Ribbon Week falls on Halloween, students are encouraged to wear their costumes to school to celebrate. We ask that your students do not wear their masks while they are in class and that any weapons (regardless of how “safe” they are) be left at home. This includes spears, swords, daggers, guns, scythes, etc.
As we make our way through the first quarter, families are invited to meet one-on-one with their student’s teacher. During the conference, families will be clued in on their student’s behaviors and grades, and will be given the chance to discuss the best ways to support their student’s learning.
We are taking the students for a behind the scenes tour of the Mohave County Fair. Students will have an opportunity to explore the different displays and exhibits at the fairgrounds. A signed permission slip is required for students to attend the field trip.
The Mohave County Library sends out their library-on-wheels to give our students the chance to check out books of all kinds from all subjects. Students can also make special requests so that the Bookmobile can bring out specific books for them, either by title or by subject/genre. After the students have taken their opportunity to browse the Bookmobile, it becomes open to the public so anyone can check out books/DVDs with their library card without having to make a trip to Kingman.
Students and their families are encouraged to join us for our Back to School Night. We will be meeting in the gymnasium for a quick informational brief before students and their families can visit their new classrooms and meet with their teachers. This is the perfect opportunity to help make sure you’re prepared for the school year to come!
To celebrate the end of another great year, we are making our annual trip up to the Hualapai Mountains. Students are welcome to engage in games and sports throughout the recreation area, go on hikes with different members of our staff, and enjoy the nature that the mountains have to offer. Lunch will be provided. Family members are welcome to come out and have fun with us.
